£45m Build-To-Rent Development For Liverpool Waters Scheme
The developers Starlight Investments have secured £45m funding to deliver a 31-storey build-to-rent (BTR) apartment block in the Liverpool Waters Regeneration area. Insider Media reports that Maslow Capital has provided the loan for the new residential scheme, which will provide a range of 278 residential units, plus commercial ground floor space.
The BTR project is part of the wider Liverpool Waters regeneration scheme, which is an ambitious 30-year plan for the city’s northern docks. The high-quality and sustainable developments stretch for over 2 km along the banks of the River Mersey and encompass some 60 hectares.
James Henry, director, deal origination at Maslow Capital, said: “Our partnership with Starlight Investments stems from a shared ambition to alleviate the UK’s structural undersupply of housing and Maslow’s continued commitment to funding high-quality living sector assets.”

Other key developments in the Liverpool Waters project include the building of Everton FC’s new stadium and the construction of the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal. Furthermore, a 200,000sq ft commercial space at Princes Dock has been awarded Net Zero status for three years running.
A recent public consultation exercise into the long-term £5.5bn scheme returned a largely positive response from the city’s residents. The main concerns of the public included affordable housing, better public transport connectivity, and the provision of open green space.
People were understandably keen to see the views and heritage of the area protected, and also wanted to see more cultural events and open air activities.
