Planning permission has been granted to convert a Grade II* listed mansion house in Sheffield into a care village. Insider Media reports that Hermes Care in partnership with Axis Architecture have been given the go ahead for the development by Sheffield City Council.
Greenside Mill in Skelmanthorpe, Kirklees, is to be redeveloped into a residential estate of 46 homes. Insider Media reports that Lovell Partnerships will work with Dudley Consulting Engineers on the 4.6 acre site.
The Kirklees district is to see several new developments this year, with major projects planned for Hudderfield and Dewsbury. The Yorkshire Examiner reports that work is due to start, or has already begun, on a number of projects across the region.
A £210m transformation of Huddersfield town centre, known as the ‘Cultural Heart’ is set to get underway after the plans were approved at a meeting of Kirklees council’s strategic planning committee. The Yorkshire Post reports that the redevelopment of a central area of the town will go ahead, despite objections being raised by some panel members.
A former pub on the Grade II* listed Park Hill estate in Sheffield is to be redeveloped into a retail unit. Insider Media reports that the Scottish Queen pub will be converted into an outlet for the furniture and lighting chain Nest. The estate has been undergoing a continuous programme of redevelopment since the late 1990s.
