A new neighbourhood of 223 homes will be built in Leeds by the developer Casa by Moda. Insider Media reports that the 5.9 acre site will be known as Abbey Court and is located between Kirkstall and Headingley, about a 15 minute drive from the city centre.
New plans have been published for the redevelopment of Bury town centre, including 800 new homes. The Manchester Evening News reports that the Millgate Shopping Centre and the surrounding estate will be regenerated as part of a long term project over the next 15 to 20 years.
Plans for a major expansion of the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City Football Club, are expected to be approved by Manchester City Council’s planning committee. The Stadium Business reports that the scheme will increase the capacity of the stadium to 60,000, and also create new entertainment and leisure venues.

The explosion in new developments has attracted new international investments and brought new residents into the heart of the city. In the past 14 years, 25 buildings of 20 storeys plus have been added to the skyline.
A planning application for a multi-function cinema and leisure centre in Wigan has been approved. Insider Media reports that the detailed plans put forward by developer Cityheart include a 700-seat cinema, a multi-lane bowling alley, a climbing wall, and other leisure facilities.
